Bush Fails To Prevent East Coast Blizzard
Minorities Hit Hardest

As President Bush and his staff cowered in the White House, the snow continued to pile up on the many poor and African American victims who could not afford to get out of town or to safety in Florida. Crucial supplies of blankets, hot cocoa, popcorn and dark rum - so essential to surviving the stress of any major snowstorm - lay in stores undelivered.
"Where is the government? I need my sidewalk shoveled so I can get out to buy my lottery tickets!" said one D.C. resident from his living room. "Why are we wasting money in Iraq when we could be spending it here on me?"
Progressive blogs blasted the President for his inaction. "We find the timing terribly suspicious - just as the Domestic Spying hearings kick into high gear, what happens? A major northeast Blizzard. Why now?" wrote one blogger.
Hearings into the Blizzards' effect on hearings are almost a certainty. Howard Dean has suggested he will call for an investigation once his new medications kick in and John Kerry took a break from the sporting activities of the glamorous super-rich in some exotic locale (random choice: Ice Sailing in Finland) to call for new legislation outlawing snowstorms.
"The Republican Congress has dropped the ball once again. I have always been a staunch supporter of anti-snow legislation, except for certain locations where I ski. Snow has no business on our roads and the President and Congress knows that."
Calls for impeachment over "SnowGate" as some are calling it already are mounting as deeply as the snow itself, and what will be discovered underneath will prove to have a truly chilling effect on the Republicans, as the inevitable thaw proceeds.
Or something like that.

I demand to know why FEMA has been so late in reacting to this storm.
THEY KNEW IT WAS COMING! And yet they failed to have crews in place to fix the electricity as soon as it went off. It just shows that Bush and the Republicans just don't care about the people in the N.E. The Senate needs to investigate this with administration people under oath.
I'll bet that the great junior senator from N.Y. has opened the doors of her home to all of the heatless poor of her neighborhood and is busy baking cookies for them while her husband applies body heat to the nearly frozen teen-aged girls.

Both of the above posts prove that the President is human and makes mistakes like all the rest of us. Even Reagan with his popularity and Carter with his morals had their woes and headaches during their administrations. The problem is, probably 99% of the crap laid at the president's feet is stuff he has no control over. Yet we think the buck stops with the executive branch of the government, while not laying equal blame with the judicial and legislative branches.

It was a good post and I agree that all presidents take some undue criticism. They are at the forefront so its easy to blame them for everything that goes on that we don't approve of. They are kinda like a quarterback...they get more credit than they deserve when things go well and more blame than they deserve when things go bad. A prime example is people acting like Bush was the only person who wanted to go to war in Iraq. I mean come on people are you kidding? Go back and check the congressional vote on that. I agreed then with both the president and congress on their decision and I still agree now. I am sure I am in a very small minority as one of the few Americans who voted for Clinton on 2 separate occasions and also voted for G.W. Bush on 2 separate occasions. If I could go back I would not change any vote of the 4 presidential elections I have taken part in. I do believe both had different issues to deal with and the cards dealt to Clinton were a much better hand than those dealt to Bush. Bush has had to make alot more tougher decisions than Clinton ever had to make and some he has made the wrong decision on. Clinton made plenty of wrong decisions too but they often were not as magnified due to the change in times and it often being less critical issues. Clinton was also smoother with dealing in the public and was good at covering his mistakes with charisma. Bush is a more "matter of fact" type and what you see is what you get. I for one would not want any other person in the White House over the last 6 years making those tough decisions than G.W...and thats nothing against Bill but he is included when I say ANY other person.

I think that Bush has been the right person for the past six years. Like you say he tells it like it is and I don't think he cares if you like it or not. It was the Islamic revolution in Iran that triggered the growth of Islamic Jihad groups in the Arab countries. In the late 1970's, after establishing their status in Iran itself, these Iranian fundamentalist revolutionaries began to "export" this revolution from their bastion to areas heavily populated by Shiites and other Arab countries. In many of these Arab countries, with the help of local supporters and sermons delivered in mosques, they worked to recruit young people into the Islamic Jihad. Some of these new recruits traveled to Iran to acquire a military-terrorist education, and then returned to establish additional cells in their own countries. I wonder how much of this happen in the US? I believe that a trial is now taking place in Ohio with a father son team that did this very thing. I believe that we would be shocked to know the number of cells that have been established in the US.

Yeah VTHokie i suppose you are correct.Tom DeLay being a jack***,Dick Cheney shooting somebody,The people of Florida not being able to count a ballot, people giving him botched info,FEMA's inaction post-katrina, the department of justice screwing up, and numerous other SPECULATIONS... fall COMPLETELY on President Bush's shoulders. Hunting down a lunatic who killed tens of thousands of american people, and attempting to spread democracy are also totally uncalled for.
I would be willing to bet that if Bush ended the war in Iraq tomorrow that the liberals would complain that he ended it too soon, you guys just can't seem to be satisfied.
